Second Department Halves Client's Sentence
October 27, 2015
Appellate Advocates client Maurice Gordon was convicted of 3 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and one count of criminal possession in the third degree. The sentencing range for each criminal sale count was 2 to 12 years, and the court imposed consecutive 8-year terms on the 3 criminal sale counts, for an aggregate term of 24 years (as well as a concurrent term of 8 years on the possession count). This week the Second Department reduced the sentences to 4 years each, making Mr. Gordon's new aggregate sentence 12 years.
Patricia Pazner briefed and argued the case for Appellate Advocates.
