Appellate Division Reduces Robbery Sentence By 30 Years
Mr. Currie was convicted of five robberies and received five consecutive 20-year sentences. This sentence aggregated to 100 years, but was statutorily limited to 50 years.
Today, the Appellate Division found the 50 year sentence to be excessive and modified the consecutive sentences to run concurrently. This reduced Mr. Currie's sentence to 20 years.
Anna Pervukhin briefed and argued the case.
