STUDENT INTERN PROGRAM

Appellate Advocates accepts law student volunteer interns for the fall semester, spring semester, and summer. Students entering their second or third years who have a strong interest in criminal defense work are encouraged to apply. Interns assist in drafting legal documents in various areas, including appeals, sex offender registration act cases, post-release supervision proceedings, drug law re-sentencing proceedings, and parole advocacy for clients. Interns also research legal issues, assist with the reentry program for clients about to be released from prison, and participate in various other projects. Applicants should be motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
